Texas Legends News Release

South Padre Island, TX (January 11, 2010) - The Texas Legends announced today that sharp-shooting guard Booker Woodfox will participate in this year's NBA Development League Showcase Three-Point Shooting Contest on Wednesday night from the South Padre Island Convention Centre.

The 2011 NBA D-League Showcase Three-Point Contest will be held together with the NBA D-League Showcase Slam Dunk Contest, beginning at 9:30 p.m. CT and re-airing nationally on VERSUS on January 15th and 29th.

The Three-Point Contest will be a three-round competition, featuring several innovations, including a moveable 'Money Rack' consisting of all 'Money' balls and increased points awarded for shots made from deeper shooting spots. From the field of eight contestants participating in Round 1, the four players with the highest scores will move on to Round 2. The two players with the highest scores in Round 2 will then compete in Round 3. The player with the highest score in Round 3 is the champion.

The seven other players competing in the Three-Point Contest along with Woodfox will be Corey Allmond (Fort Wayne Mad Ants), Andre Ingram (Utah Flash), Marcus Landry (Reno Bighorns), Chris Lofton (Iowa Energy), Scottie Reynolds (Springfield Jam), Jamar Smith (Maine Red Claws) and Robert Vaden (Tulsa 66ers).

Woodfox comes into the competition ranked tied for 15th in the D-League in Three-Point Field Goal Percentage as he is shooting 40.6% from beyond the arc this season. He is the second leading three-point shooter on the Legends, just behind Justin Dentmon (41.4%), however, his 28 three-pointers made leads the team.
