Armor Fends off Flash at 2011 NBA D-League Showcase

January 11, 2011 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS, Jan. 11, 2011 - Andre Ingram had a clear look from behind the arc with his team down three points with 15 seconds left on the clock.

Utah couldn't really ask for more, having trailed most of the way to that point. Ingram, shooting a robust 47 percent from three-point range and slated to take part in tomorrow's Three-Point Shooting Contest, took aim and missed, allowing Springfield to squeeze out a 95-89 victory.

JamesOn Curry, L.D. Williams, Chas McFarland and Jerry Smith each scored 12 points for the Armor (6-14). Scottie Reynolds added eight points, four assists and a game-high four steals for Springfield.

Reynolds, who went undrafted in 2010, originally signed to play overseas this summer after failing to nail down a guaranteed NBA contract. He eventually returned to the States, looking to give it a shot in the NBA D-League.

"This type of setting is why I came back," said Reynolds, a four-year standout at Villanova who was a First Team All-American as a senior. "This place is filled with basketball people. Every time you step on the court in this league, somebody important is watching you. Each and every night is a chance to get better and try to get a Call-up."

Ronald Dupree led Utah (9-9) with 19 points. Orien Greene had another strong all-around game for the Flash, finishing with 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting, to go with four assists and three steals.

This was Utah's second and final game at this year's NBA D-League Showcase. Springfield is in action again Thursday against Idaho.
