WAUSAU, WI - The Battle Creek Bombers jumped ahead early and never looked back, as they led from start to finish in a 10-4 victory over the Wisconsin Woodchucks at Athletic Park. The win snapped Wisconsin's 17-game home winning streak and they fell for just the third time in the second half.

The Bombers scored three times in the first inning. Connor Costello came through with a big 2-run single with two outs and Dylan Delaney followed a couple batters later with an RBI single of his own.

Battle Creek had at least one base hit in every inning aside from the eighth. Daniel Rockett belted a two-run homer (8) and scored four runs. Colin Willis, Casey Yocum, and Kyle Figgins had three hits apiece to lead the 14 hit attack.

After making three errors themselves in the series opener on Sunday night, Battle Creek took advantage of four Woodchuck miscues in the series finale. Three of those errors came in the eighth inning, when the Bombers scored two runs.

Dan Tyson (2-2) pitched well for Battle Creek to earn the win. The Northwestern left-hander went five and two-thirds innings and allowed just two runs. He didn't walk a man and struck out five.

The Bombers return home on Tuesday night for the first of a brief two-game series against the Lakeshore Chinooks. First pitch is 7:05 E.T. Cole Swanson gets the ball for Battle Creek.

The Battle Creek Bombers are members of the prestigious Northwoods League that has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in North America.
