Battle Creek Battle Jacks News Release
MEQUON, WI - The Bombers fell behind early giving up 4 runs in the first inning, and they couldn't pull of the comeback as they fell to the Lakeshore Chinooks 7-2.
The Bombers hit the first home run on the season in the 4th inning as Casey Mulholland (Ole Miss) blasted one over the left field fence. Casey, listed as a pitcher on the roster, went 2-4 in his first start as the team's designated hitter.
Battle Creek's bullpen was very good once again as Alex Tukey, Scott Simmons, Chad Jasman, Brian Heldman, and Pat Borlik combined to throw 7 innings of relief only giving up 2 earned runs.
After a quick three-game road trip, the Bombers return to C.O. Brown Stadium for four games beginning with a two-game series with the Wisconsin Woodchucks. Casey Mulholland will head from DH to P as he gets the ball tomorrow night.
