BATTLE CREEK, MI - The La Crosse Loggers completed the sweep of the Bombers Wednesday night as they topped Battle Creek 8-3 at C.O. Brown Stadium.

The Loggers loaded the bases with nobody out in the 2nd inning, and scored the first two runs of the game on a sacrifice fly by Steven Pallares and a single by Brandon Bednar to go up 2-0. Brendon Farney also attempted to score on Bednar's single, however Tom Albert gunned him out at the plate from right field.

La Crosse scored two more runs in the 5th inning to pad their lead to 4-0. Brian Valente, the Bombers starting pitcher, had to leave the game after facing only two hitters in that 5th inning due to a blood blister on his finger. Logger starting pitcher Jake Stassi was very effective, as he held Battle Creek scoreless in his six innings.

Once the Bombsquad got to the bullpen, the offense came alive scoring a run in the seventh, and two runs in the 8th. AJ Spanel put Battle Creek on the board with an RBI single, and Dylan Delaney recorded three hits on the night. The Bombers battled, but Jonathon Van Eaton shut the door in the 9th, setting down the Bombers in order to finish the sweep with an 8-3 victory. With the win, La Crosse has now won a franchise-best 11 consecutive games.

The Bombers remain home for the next three days, as the Wisconsin Woodchucks come to town beginning tomorrow night. Casey Mulholland will be the starting pitcher in Game 1.
