Green Bay Rockers News Release

The 'Frogs won their fourth consecutive game Wednesday night, defeating the Madison Mallards 3-2 at Warner Park to complete a series sweep.

Madison opened the scoring in the bottom of the first. After a leadoff double, Tyler Marincov came around to score when Luis Munoz reached on a Taylor Black error.

The game remained 1-0 in favor of Madison until the top of the 6th when Green Bay scored two runs. Clayton Eslick came around to score on a Duncan McAlpine single, and David Armendariz slid in safely on a safety squeeze. The bunt was laid down by Collin Shaw, and it gave the 'Frogs a 2-1 lead.

Green Bay tacked on a valuable insurance run in the ninth. Ransom LaLonde was hit by a pitch. He then advanced to second base on a wild pitch and came in to score on another wild pitch. This gave the 'Frogs a 3-1 advantage.

The Mallards scored one run in the ninth to cut Green Bay's lead to 3-2. With two down and John Welborn on third base, Will Landsheft struck out Tyler Marincov, Madison's leading hitter, to end the threat and the game.

Landsheft earned his second save of the season, and Taylor Black earned the win to improve his record to 2-0.

The 'Frogs return home on Thursday to begin a three game set against the Eau Claire Express. The promotion is Thirsty Thursdays, presented by Titletown Brewing Company with Kruz 106.7. Enjoy discounted Titletown selections all game long! Tickets are still available.
