Bombers Beat Cincinnati 5-1

Dayton, OH- Dan Riedel had a game high four points as the Dayton Bombers defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-1 on Friday night at the Nutter Center.

The Bombers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first when Mike Looby scored his third goal of the season on the power play, assisted by Riedel and Greg Labenski. Then Riedel netted his team leading 13th of the year from Dominic D'Amour and Christian Gaudet. The Bombers outshot the Cyclones 13-15 in the period as Paul Drew denied every shot he faced.

Dayton grew their lead to 3-0 when Jarret Lukin put the puck past the Cyclones' Martin Houle, assisted by Riedel and Labenski. Drew had stopped all 22 shots he'd faced through 2 periods as the Bombers fired another 9 shots at Houle.

The Cyclones finally got on the board in the third with a goal at by Mark Van Guilder at 6:55. The Bombers, however, would rebound and net two more goals before the game ended. Les Reaney and Mike McLean each scored at the 12 minute mark, 30 seconds apart.

The Bombers went 2 of 9 on the power play and 9 of 9 on the penalty kill. Drew finished the night 31 of 32, while Houle was 25 of 30.
