Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced today the signing of a big man with a big upside.

Joining the team is offensive lineman Kevin Breedlove (6-4, 320, University of Georgia '02, DOB: June 25, 1980 in Arlington, Texas).

Breedlove was an All-American candidate and a USA Today All-USA first-team member during his four seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs (1999-2002). He was one of the ‘Dogs most durable players, and shares the team record for most starts.

Breedlove joined the San Diego Chargers of the NFL in 2003 as a free agent and played in one game for the Bolts. He spent last season on the practice roster of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"Kevin is an extremely tough, hardnosed offensive lineman," said Bombers G.M. Brendan Taman.

"He brings durability and an attitude to the group of guys we have signed already. He has gained valuable experience in the NFL and NFL Europe. He comes highly recommended by the people in Tampa."

Breedlove is surprisingly athletic for such a big man. He was an all-state athlete in both wrestling and track and field (discus and shot put). He is also a formidable racquetball player.
