Bobcats Sign Chris Douglas-Roberts from Legends

FRISCO, TX, (Dec. 12, 2013) - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), announced today that guard Chris Douglas-Roberts has earned a GATORADE call-up and signed an NBA contract with the Charlotte Bobcats. Douglas-Roberts becomes the first GATORADE call-up (7th in team history) for the Legends this season and the 5th overall in the NBA Development League.

Douglas-Roberts (6'7", 215, Memphis) played in 7 games for the Legends this season averaging 18.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists. A four-year veteran of the NBA, Douglas-Roberts has played in 161 games for the Nets, Bucks and Mavericks. Douglas-Roberts spent the 2013-14 NBA summer league with the Los Angeles Lakers (8.6 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 1.8 apg) before joining the New York Knicks for the preseason (3.5 ppg, 1.5 apg, 2 games).

Douglas-Roberts spent three years at Memphis where he was named Consensus All-American, Conference-USA Player of the Year, C-USA All-Conference First Team, and NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team in his junior season. That season he averaged 18.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
