Bobcats hope new blood means wins

Bismarck Bobcats News Release

The Bismarck Bobcats' inconsistency on the ice continues to plague them as they gear up for the playoff push. The Bobcats were beaten badly by Fargo-Moorhead twice on the week. On Tuesday, the Jets beat Bismarck 7-3 and 48 hours later did it again on the 'Cats home ice, 7-2. Bismarck was outshot in both games by almost two-to-one margins and the Jets continue to roll in the West Division.

Bismarck responded on Friday at Billings, whooping the Bulls 6-2 on the road. Newly- acquired Dustan Fulton recorded a hat trick on the night as the 'Cats jumped on Billings early by two goals and never let up.

To round out the week on Saturday, the Bobcats returned home only to be beaten by the Bulls 5-2 at the VFW Sportscenter. Pat Dynan scored the opening goal for a 1-0 lead and Nick Bydal tied things up at 2-2 after one. But Mike Mayra scored twice for Billings in the second period to jump out to a 4-2 lead and scored late to seal it. The loss to the Bulls is the first of the season for Bismarck who is now 4-1-1 against them on the season.

Bismarck is still in the West Division cellar, but despite all the troubles, are very much alive in the playoff hunt.

The Bobcats hit the road this week to take on the Minnesota Blizzard Friday night and will not be in action again until the following Friday at Fargo-Moorhead.
