Spirit's Erickson leads from blueline to grab share of Sher-Wood NAHL Defensive Player of the Week
Published on January 6, 2005 under North American Hockey League (NAHL) News Release
Ringing out the old year in style, the Springfield Spirit traveled to Central Texas in late December and defenseman Sean Erickson, their top-scoring blue liner, helped his team take two on the road. In the process he was named co-winner of the Sher-Wood NAHL Defensive Player of the Week for Week 14. Scoring the game-winning goal and adding an assist in the December 29 game in Temple, Texas, the Eden Prairie, Minnesota native helped the Spirit down a determined home team 5-4. The next night Erickson broke a scoreless tie with an early second period goal and the Spirit never looked back, cruising to a 5-2 victory.
