Bobby Hughes Named the CHL Player of the Week

Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Kingston Frontenacs forward Bobby Hughes is the CHL Player of the Week.

Hughes, 18, recorded four goals and six assists in three games last week as the Frontenacs went 2-1-0-0. Hughes had a goal and two assists in a 5-3 loss to the St. Michael's Majors to open the week. Hughes was also named the Third Star of the Game. Friday night in an 8-2 win over the Belleville Bulls, Hughes again had a goal and two assists and was named the Second Star of the Game. Sunday, in an offensive battle with the Ottawa 67's, Hughes contributed two goals and two assists in a 9-8 win and was again named the Third Star of the Game.

Devin Setoguchi of the Saskatoon Blades was the WHL Player of the Week after scoring four goals and 10 points in four games. Simon Courcelles of the Quebec Remparts was the QMJHL's Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals and ten points in four games. Keith Yandle was the QMJHL's Defensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal and adding six assists while also finishing plus nine on the week.
