Ottawa 67's News Release

This Friday night at the Ottawa Civic Centre, while the 67's and Belleville Bulls lock horns, there will be more than 300 secondary students in attendance hoping for a peaceful game.

The students will attend the Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board's annual Secondary Peace Conference at the Ottawa Civic Centre on Friday November 18th, 2005

The Conference will be an all day affair, with students from all 14 high schools and 2 intermediate schools in attendance. The Conference will be held between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Civic Centre salons at Lansdowne Park. The students will then attend the Ottawa 67's game later that night as guests of the Ottawa 67's Hockey Club.

Committee co-chairs Bill Barrett VP of St. Joseph HS and Mary Anne Cowan - Principal of St. James Catholic School will drop the puck for the OCCSB during a ceremonial face-off at the game Friday night.

The Peace Conference will be attended by secondary students who are involved in Peacemaking or Peer Mediation at their schools. The event is intended to promote and celebrate the contribution of the students to their school communities.

These students play a very important role in their schools. Their individual commitment helps make the schools much safer environments for everyone.

The Conference is made possible by the ongoing support of the Patricia Allen Memorial Fund, the City of Ottawa, the Ontario Provincial Police, the Ottawa Police Service and the Ottawa 67's Hockey Club.

There are still great seats available for Friday night's game and tickets may be purchased online at www.capitaltickets.ca, over the phone by calling 599-FANS, or in person at the Ottawa 67's store and ticket office in the Coliseum Building on Bank St.

Ottawa 67's ticket prices are one of the lowest in the OHL. Children 12 years old and under can enjoy affordable hockey action for only $11.00 per game, adults can take in a game for only $14.00 and students and seniors can watch for only $13.00
