Bobb Vergiels Returns As Public Address Announcer

(TOLEDO, OH) - The Toledo Walleye are pleased to announce that Bobb Vergiels will serve as the public address announcer for the Toledo Walleye during the 2009-10 inaugural season at the new Lucas County Arena.

The Walleye open the season on Friday, October 16th at 7:00 pm versus the Florida Everblades.

Bobb expressed his pleasure of returning to Toledo, ""I am very excited to now be in on the ground floor of two Toledo hockey teams. Having worked for several years with Nick Vitucci, I know that he has assembled a fine group of players that Toledo will enjoy watching. I have missed seeing many of the loyal Toledo hockey fans over the last two years and am really looking forward to renewing old acquaintances when the Walleye hit the ice." Bobb added, "My announcing career began in Toledo in 1991 and I am thankful for the opportunity to come full circle and back to my home town and to minor league hockey's greatest city with the best fans."

Was the last announcer at the Toledo Sports Arena and will be the first announcer at Lucas County Arena.

The Lucas County Arena will be holding a FREE open house on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th from 12-4 each day. The Walleye will skate for the first time at the arena for practice from 1-4 pm on Sunday, October 4.
