Salmon Kings Receive Four From Manitoba

Victoria, B.C. - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that the Moose have assigned goaltender John Murray to Victoria, and Olivier Filion, Kaleb Betts, and Bear Trapp have been released from Moose training camp.

The 6-0, 197 lb Murray is under AHL contract to the Moose and enters his third professional season this fall after spending the previous two campaigns split between the ECHL and AHL.

The Lancaster, PA native spent last season split between the Ontario Reign and Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL along with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL. His best numbers came in Ontario where he went 13-8-3 in 24 games played with a goals against average of 2.81 and a save percentage of 0.917.

In addition, the Moose have announced that the Salmon Kings' Olivier Filion, Kaleb Betts, and Bear Trapp have been released from Manitoba's training camp. The three Victoria contracted players, along with Murray, will participate in the Salmon Kings' training camp which opens October 3rd at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Season tickets for the Salmon Kings 2009-10 season are on sale. The Salmon Kings kick off their home schedule on October 21st when the Bakersfield Condors come to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
