BAKERSFIELD, California - Portland Trail Blazers assignee Luke Babbitt made 13-of-23 shots and finished with 35 points, 11 rebounds and six assists as the Idaho Stampede (7-9) beat the Bakersfield Jam 114-104. Paul Carter added 16 points and Denver Nuggets assignee Julyan Stone had five points, 11 assists and five rebounds in his first start at point guard. Armon Johnson, a second Blazer assigned player, added 10 points and nine assists off the bench as the Stampede totaled 33 helpers to just 14 turnovers.
Jordan Hamilton, another assigned player from Denver, finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double in as many games for Idaho. The Stampeders out-rebounded the Jam (9-7) 45-37 and made 14-of-34 three-pointers, a season high. Every Stampeder who played scored at least three points, with five players coming in with double-figures, including Seth Tarver, who had 12 points, four rebounds and two steals.
The Stampede held the Jam to just 3-of-15 shooting from behind the three-point line. Renaldo Major had 23 points (15-19 FT) and nine rebounds and Solomon Alabi had 22 points, nine rebounds and four blocks to lead Bakersfield.
Idaho heads to Reno, Nevada for the NBA D-League Showcase, where they will play the Erie BayHawks on Jan. 9 live on NBA TV at 11 a.m. (MST). The Stampede then play Bakersfield on Jan. 11 at 1:45 p.m. (MST), also live on NBA TV.
