Blum Hat Trick Leads Giants To 4-1 Win

VANCOUVER BC - Giants Captain Jonathon Blum scored his first WHL hat trick and added an assist as the Vancouver Giants defeated the Chilliwack Bruins 4-1 at the Pacific Coliseum.

Blum had a goal in each period and also set up a third period power play goal by Casey Pierro-Zabotel to finish with four points on the night. Tyson Sexsmith stopped 22 of 23 shots to earn the victory for the Giants, who move their record to 18-1-0-3 on the season. The Giants were able to convert on their top ranked power play three times on seven opportunities,

Next up, the Kamloops Blazers come to town on STANLEY CUP LEGENDS night. Five legends: Gerry Cheevers, Dave Schultz, Johnny Bower, Steve Shutt and Yvon Cournoyer will be present along with the Stanley Cup. The Giants will also don the uniforms of the 1915 Vancouver Millionaires, the only team to win the Stanley Cup in Vancouver. Game time will be at 7:30, with the White Spot pregame show on AM650 beginning at 7 pm. Dave Sheldon and Steve Ewen of THE PROVINCE will have the call of all the action.
