Blues, IceCats & Peoria Involved in Transactions

WORCESTER, MA – St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau today announced several transactions involving the Blues, the IceCats and their ECHL affiliate, the Peoria (IL) Rivermen. The Blues have reassigned forwards Colin Hemingway and Greg Black from Peoria to Worcester. In addition, St. Louis loaned defenseman Aris Brimanis to Worcester and recalled blueliner Christian Laflamme from his conditioning assignment

Drafted by the St. Louis Blues with their seventh choice, 221st overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Hemingway has skated in nine games for the IceCats during his first professional season. The former University of New Hampshire standout has been blanked on the score-sheet, and has recorded two penalty minutes. While with Peoria, he played in five games, notching six assists and two penalty minutes.

Signed by the Blues as a free agent on March 20th, Black appeared in three games with the Peoria Rivermen, registering one assist and 14 penalty minutes. Prior to his stint in Peoria, he played in 14 games with the IceCats, garnering one goal, one assist and 64 penalty minutes.

The 31 year-old Brimanis was loaned back to the IceCats following a one game call-up to the Blues. In two call-ups to the Blues, the Shaker Heights, Ohio native has played in eight games, obtaining two penalty minutes. The IceCats Alternate Captain has played in 14 games with the IceCats this season, recording five points (one goal, four assists) and eight penalty minutes.

Defenseman Christian Laflamme, assigned to Worcester on November 22nd for conditioning, was recalled from his assignment by the Blues. Laflamme appeared in five games with the IceCats, registering two assists and six penalty minutes. He skated in one game with the Blues this season, before suffering an injury.

The IceCats are on the road for five straight games, before returning to Worcester's Centrum Centre for a 7:05 face off with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday, December 19th.
