Bridgeport Bluefish News Release
Bridgeport, Conn. - The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced the acquisition of pitcher Rusty Jones from the Camden Riversharks as the player to be named later in a previous trade that sent Miguel Martinez to Camden on August 12.
"Rusty will be a dependable arm in the bullpen," says Bluefish manager Willie Upshaw. "He's had a terrific season with Camden and Long Island, and we look forward to his continued success with our club."
Jones will make his Park City debut during his first season in the Atlantic League and eighth of professional baseball. He has already made two stops in the Atlantic League during the 2013 campaign, with Long Island and Camden. The lefthander combined to pitch in 32 games, holding a 1.55 ERA with 29 strikeouts over 29 innings of work. The 30-year-old has spent his career within independent baseball and this has been his most productive season in his career. He holds an overall earned run average of 3.84 in 274 games.
In a corresponding roster move, the Bluefish have placed pitcher Jeff Fulchino on the reserve/retired list.
