BlueClaws Top Legends for Double-Header Split

LEXINGTON, KY-Tuffy Gosewisch broke a 2-2 tie in the 4th inning with a solo home run the batter after Gus Milner tied the game with a two-run blast, and Lakewood went on to top Lexington 4-2 and split a Saturday double-header.

The back-to-back home runs marked a first for the 2007 BlueClaws. Milner's homer, his 8th of the year, came off starter Corey Bass, and Gosewisch's blast, his 5th, came as the first batter to face reliever Sergio Severino (3-6).

Lakewood got all four runs in the 4th inning, as Fidel Hernandez added a run-scoring single to bring in Herman Demmink, who followed Gosewisch's homer with a double.

Antonio Bastardo started the game for Lakewood on three-days rest, lasting 4.1 innings and giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits. Garet Hill came in and got the next five outs, improving to 5-3. RJ Swindle pitched the 9th for his 10th save.

Lakewood is now 9-1 in Bastardo's 10 starts.

The BlueClaws (19-16) end up splitting four with Lexington (18-19) and finish their road-trip at 2-6. The Legends won the Saturday opener (resumed from Friday night) 4-1.

Lakewood returns home on Monday to open an eight- game homestand against the Asheville Tourists, the first Southern Division foe for Lakewood in 2007.
