Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release
Wilmington, DE - It will be a Battle of the Badges after the Blue Rocks contest on Sunday, June 10, when the Wilmington Police and Fire Departments will square off in a softball game. The exhibition will take place on the Judy Johnson Field diamond following the Blue Crew's 1:35 p.m. contest against the Frederick Keys.
It will be a single admission event, with a ticket getting fans access to both the Blue Rocks game and the softball exhibition. In honor of the first responders and everything they do for our community the Rocks are offering special $5 tickets to first responders and their families when they enter the promo code "FIRE" on the team's website.
"We are really looking forward to this event," said Blue Rocks general manager Andrew Layman. "The firefighters and police are such a crucial contributor to our community and we are happy to have the opportunity to let them enjoy an afternoon of fun at Frawley Stadium. We are hopeful the community turns out to support these men and women in the first playing of what we think will be an annual tradition."
The softball exhibition will start roughly 30 minutes after the end of the Blue Rocks game. Tickets to this event or any other Blue Rocks game are available at the team's website; BlueRocks.com.
