Blue Jackets Recall Forward Dmitri Voronkov from Monsters

CLEVELAND - The AHL's Cleveland Monsters, top affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced Monday that the Blue Jackets recalled forward Dmitri Voronkov from the Monsters. In four appearances for Cleveland this season, Voronkov logged 0-1-1 with two penalty minutes in the first North American action of his professional career.

A 6'5", 240 lb. left-shooting native of Angarsk, Russia, Voronkov, 23, was originally selected by Columbus in the fourth round (114th overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. In 182 career appearances for Ak-Bars Kazan in Russia's KHL spanning parts of five seasons from 2018-23, Voronkov posted 37-37-74 with 157 penalty minutes and a +29 rating. Voronkov helped Russia claim Silver Medals at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and 2019-20 IIHF U20 World Junior Championships, and represented his home country at the 2020-21 IIHF World Championship.
