Bakersfield Condors News Release
The Bakersfield Condors and Bank of America have partnered for multiple programs to support high impact local nonprofit Flood Ministries for its work providing supportive housing, resources and services to those experiencing homelessness across Kern County. Throughout the 2023-24 Condors season, Flood Ministries will be the recipient of Goals for Charity and Non-Profit of the Night charitable donations.
Bank of America also announced Flood Ministries as the 2023 Neighborhood Champion® awardee, which includes a $50,000 multi-year grant and leadership training to help the organization launch its new Flood Fresh Shower project, expanding their mobile hygiene services to more people experiencing homelessness in the underserved, rural areas of Kern Valley.
"We are thrilled to partner with Bank of America to help support Flood Ministries and their mission," said Condors Senior Vice President, Business Operations Justin Fahsbender. "The Goals for Charity Program will be something fun and interactive for our fans to follow along with all season long and we know the team on the ice will deliver for Flood Ministries!"
"Flood Ministries has been instrumental providing resources for the homeless and underserved as part of the Kern River Bridge Connection effort with community, civic and business leaders," said Karen Zuber, president, Bank of America Bakersfield. "Nonprofits such as theirs are vital to solving social challenges and putting people on the path to financial stability. . The Flood Fresh Shower program will be instrumental in improving the overall health and well-being for the underserved homeless population in Kern Valley, and we are thankful to the Condors for their partnership to support these initiatives."
In addition to the Neighborhood Champion Award, for every goal the Condors score this season, Bank of America will also donate $20 to Flood Ministries through the Condors Community Foundation 501(c)(3) as part of their Goals for Charity sponsorship.
On Opening Night, the Condors Community Foundation 501(c)(3) presented a check of $3,600 to Flood Ministries through the Non-Profit of the Night Program. Established to support multiple non-profits during the season, every Condors home game features a local non-profit with a $3,600 check presentation and an opportunity to showcase their services while fundraising at the game.
