Saturday's sellout at the BMO Center was the team's first opening night sellout since 2013.
Joey Anderson is tied for second in the entire AHL in points-per-game at 2.00. The forward has six points (2G, 4A) in three games with Rockford and has recorded a point in each contest so far. Anderson has scored goals in back-to-back games.
Rockford ranks second in the league with a 41.7% conversion rate on the power play. The Hogs have five power-play goals in 12 games, and have struck on the man-advantage in each of the first three games. Rockford is tied for second in the AHL with five total power-play strikes.
The IceHogs have five players that are performing at a point-per-game pace to start the season. Joey Anderson (2G, 4A), David Gust (2G, 3A), Brett Seney (1G, 3A), Anders Bjork (1G, 2A), and Mike Hardman (1G, 2A) all have at least three points in the first three games.
Rockford's sellout last Saturday marked the first sellout at a home opener since the 2013 season. The mark of 6,360 fans ranks fourth all-time in IceHogs home opener attendance numbers.
The IceHogs continue with two Central Division matchups this weekend. After an intra-division tilt against Chicago last Saturday, Rockford is now in the midst of a 17-game stretch in which it will only face Central Division opponents. The streak ends on Dec. 8 when the Pacific's San Diego Gulls visit the BMO Center.
Center Cole Guttman returned to Rockford last weekend and slotted in on the top line with David Gust and Brett Seney. Guttman skated in three games with the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL to start the year and scored a goal in the Hawks' season-opening win against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Guttman picked up an assist on Saturday against the Wolves.
