
Blue Crabs Score Four Unanswered Runs to Take Game One from Camden

(Waldorf, MD., May, 6th 2015)--- In a ballgame that was delayed two hours and 17 minutes, the first pitch was finally thrown at 9:22 and game one of a three game series between the Riversharks, and the Blue Crabs was underway with Southern Maryland coming out on top 5-2.
The Blue Crabs got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the second. Fred Lewis singled with one out, and two batters later Casey Frawley doubled with Lewis scoring from first base to give the Blue Crabs a 1-0 lead. The Riversharks would counter in the Top of the third with a run. Jose Gill led off the inning with a double, and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Michael Rockett. Brandon Chaves then singled between Osuna and Frawley at third and shortstop to score Gill tying the game.
Camden would score in the top of the sixth on an RBI single by Mike Costanzo to take a 2-1. The Blue Crabs would tie it in the bottom of the frame with a sacrifice fly from Gustavo Molina.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Blue Crabs would take the lead and never look back. Renny Osuna would reach first base on a fielder's choice. Jake Opitz would then single, and Daryle Ward would walk to load the bases. Two pitches later, Danny Herrera would uncork a wild pitch allowing Osuna to score, and the runners to move up to second and third. Craig Maddox would then double to drive in two and give the Blue Crabs a 5-2 lead.
LHP Brian Burres started the game for Southern Maryland, going just three innings, and leaving the ballgame with an injury. RHP Sean Gleason started for Camden going 5.1 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits. RHP Justin Berg pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning, with Erik Hamren picking up the save in the ninth.
Game two of this three game set will take place tomorrow morning at Regency Furniture Stadium. It will be the first morning contest of the 2015 season, with the first pitch scheduled for 10:35 A.M. LHP Bill Murphy (0-0, 4.00 ERA) will start for Camden, and he will be countered by Shaun Garceau (0-0, 1.93 ERA) who will take the bump for Southern Maryland.
