
Blue Coats Stop Canton Charge in Home Opener

PHILADELPHIA - The Delaware Blue Coats (2-4), the NBA G League Affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, defeated the Canton Charge (2-4), 113-94, on Tuesday night in the team's home opener at The Center in Philadelphia. Tuesday's win marked the highest-attended game in franchise history with a crowd of 8,023 on Joel Embiid bobblehead night.
76ers two-way player Demetrius Jackson scored 21 points for the Blue Coats, matching Canton's Jaron Blossomgame for a game-high in that category. Haywood Highsmith recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds in 32 minutes of action for the home team. Jared Brownridge scored 18 points on six three-point field goals in 24 minutes off the bench, while Cameron Oliver added a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds in 27 minutes.
Blossomgame, who was acquired by the Charge on Monday in a trade with the Austin Spurs, secured 11 rebounds to go along with his 21 points en route to a double-double in 29 minutes off the bench. JaCorey Williams scored 20 points in 20 minutes as a reserve.
The Blue Coats begin the first of two matchups at the Lakeland Magic on Friday, Nov. 23 at 7:00 p.m. 76ers Fieldhouse Opening Night is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 4 against the Grand Rapids Drive at 7:00 p.m.
