
Blue Coats Fight Back, Sink Clips

Orlando, FL - The Agua Caliente Clippers (1-2) can't hold on as they fall late to the undefeated Delaware Blue Coats (3-0), 108-101, on Valentine's Day.
After struggling from the field in their first two games, the Clippers came out of gates hot today, hitting 10 of their 16 shot attempts in the opening quarter. Agua Caliente continued their strong play into the second, riding an 18-4 run to their largest advantage of the game at 13.
With the lead still in double-figures, the Blue Coats fought their way back, capping off the third quarter with a 9-0 run to bridge the gap to a single point. Delaware quickly took full advantage of the momentum shift as their deficit became a 10-point advantage late in the game thanks to a 15-4 fourth quarter run. Down 10 with 51 seconds remaining, the Clippers made things interesting, trimming the lead to four on a Tyrone Wallace three-pointer with 18.8 seconds remaining, but a costly turnover sealed their fate.
With two-way player Amir Coffey back with in Los Angeles, James Palmer Jr. put up his best offensive display this season, leading Agua Caliente with a season-high 26 points on 10-of-22 shooting from the field and hitting two of his five three-point attempts. Donte Grantham added a huge 16-point, 14-rebound double-double and Wallace continued his strong form, contributing with 22 points, five rebounds, and six assists.
Two-way player Paul Reed led the Blue Coats to victory, putting up a game-high 31 points. Reed also grabbed 11 rebounds to complete the double-double. Fellow two-way player Rayjon Tucket added 19 points and six assists while Jemerrio Jones collected a game-high 17 rebounds.
The Clippers have Monday off before returning to the hardwood on Tuesday to host the Salt Lake City Stars in a matinee. The action tips-off at 12:30 p.m. PT inside the HP Field House at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Fl. and can be viewed on ESPN+.
