Oklahoma City Blue News Release
ONTARIO, Ca. - The Oklahoma City Blue (26-22) fell to the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario (21-27), 109-107, on Tuesday night.
The Blue led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter before the Clippers rallied back to take the lead 99-97 with just over three minutes remaining. Oklahoma City then scored seven unanswered points to put them back up by five until back-to-back threes from C.J. Williams turned the game back in favor of the home team with less than a minute to go. From there, free throws decided the game. Williams led the Clippers with a game-high 35 points, four rebounds and five assists.
For the Blue, Yannis Morin set a new career-high in scoring and nearly recorded a perfect shooting night by going 7-of-8 from the field to finish with 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocks off the bench.
Two-way player Daniel Hamilton notched his league-leading ninth triple-double of the season with a team-best 20 points, game-high 14 rebounds and 10 assists.
After a handful of lead changes to open the game, the Blue produced a 17-5 run to end the first quarter and start the second. Oklahoma City held on to that advantage for the next two quarters, going up 89-72 towards the end of the third. The Clippers then generated a 17-4 run of their own in the final frame to close the gap and ultimately pull ahead to win.
Oklahoma City outscored Agua Caliente in the paint 60-40 and outshot them 45.6 percent to 40.7 percent, but the Clippers were on fire from beyond the arc, draining 16 three-point shots.
Rashawn Thomas turned in a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds while Justin Leon logged 17 points and five rebounds for Oklahoma City.
The Blue will return home for the final time in the regular season when the team faces the Austin Spurs on Thursday, March 22 at 7 p.m. inside Cox Convention Center.
