Blue Bombers Sign Running Back Kinlaw And Offensive Lineman Sleightholm

WINNIPEG, MB - The Blue Bombers have added two offensive players today; import running back Rodney Kinlaw, and non-import offensive lineman Kyle Sleightholm.
As per team policy, details of the agreements are not disclosed.
Kinlaw (5-9, 201, Penn State '07, DOB: Apr. 6, 1985 in Goose Creek, SC) comes to Winnipeg after an impressive four year college career with the Nittany Lions.
His senior year at Penn State in 2007, Kinlaw earned a starting position after five games in, and had 243 carries for 1,329 yards, 10 touchdowns, and a sparkling 5.5 yards per carry average. That rushing total was good for eleventh all-time in school history.
The 23-year-old running back earned offensive MVP honours at the 2007 Alamo Bowl after running for 143 yards in the contest.
On Aug. 1, 2008, Kinlaw signed with the NFL's New York Jets as an undrafted free agent, but was released prior to the regular season.
"We're really excited to add a player like Rodney to our roster. I think he'll open up some eyes in camp," said head coach Mike Kelly.
Sleightholm (6-3, 295, Windsor '07, DOB: Aug. 2, 1985 in Chatham, ON) was in training camp with the Blue Bombers in 2008, where he made the switch from playing defence to playing offence.
Sleightholm originally played on the defensive line at Windsor, playing in each of his four seasons with the Lancers, but after switched positions in Blue Bomber training camp after showing great potential on the offensive line.
"Kyle had upside and we want a closer look of what he can do in training camp this year" Kelly said.
