WINNIPEG, MB â The following is a list of community events the Winnipeg Blue Bomber players, coaches, staff, alumni, mascots and dance team members will be attending during the month of May:
MAY 3 â COACH DAVE RITCHIE is the featured guest speaker at the 7th Annual Celebrate Life Fundraising Breakfast from 7:30-9:00 a.m. at the Fairmont Hotel Ballroom.
MAY 4 â BUZZ & BOOMER will make an appearance at the Physio Fit Run, 9 to 11 a.m. at Assiniboine Park. The Dynamic Duo will be handing out prizes and entertaining the crowd.
MAY 5 â The 2002 NFL/CFL "Test to be the Best" Skill Development Camp takes place at Canad Inns Stadium from 12:00 Noon-1:30 p.m. MOE ELEWONIBI will speak to the youth about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
MAY 10 â DOUG HOCKING, WADE MILLER, MATT SHERIDAN and BRAD YAMAOKA along with members of the BLUE LIGHTNING DANCE TEAM will attend Take Pride Winnipeg's "May I Help" Kickoff Breakfast at Canad Inns Stadium. Between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., players will be speaking to students and signing autographs.
MAY 11 â BUZZ & BOOMER with members of the BLUE LIGHTNING DANCE TEAM take part in the "Spring Carnival" parade at the Southdale Community Club, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
MAY 11 â Meet NFL and CFL stars from the MINNESOTA VIKINGS and WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS at the first "Practice With the Pros" event held in Winnipeg. The Pros help kids hone their skills while BUZZ & BOOMER along with members of the BLUE LIGHTNING DANCE TEAM entertain the crowd. The event will be held at Canad Inns Stadium from 3:00-6:00 p.m. but there are no longer any registration spots available.
MAY 12 â BOB CAMERON along with BUZZ & BOOMER will take part in the "Miles of Smiles" Walk-A-Thon & Family Fun Day, 11:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the St. Amant Centre, 440 River Road.
MAY 15 â ANTHEM AUDITIONS take place at Canad Inns Stadium from 2:30-5:00 p.m. Interested singers should call George at 784-2583 ext. 541 to make an appointment.
MAY 15 â Player DOUG HOCKING will sign autographs, assist behind the counter and man the drive through at Tim Hortons' Camp Day, 9:00-10:00 a.m. at 1025 King Edward St.
MAY 22 â BUZZ & BOOMER MASCOT AUDITIONS begin, in the Blue & Gold Room between 7:00-9:00 p.m.
MAY 23 â BUZZ & BOOMER will attend the Florence Nightingale School "Community BBQ" between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.
MAY 25 â BUZZ & BOOMER visit Kildonan Park for the Public Works Expo from 12:00 noonâ2:00 p.m.
MAY 28 â Members of the BLUE LIGHTNING DANCE TEAM take part in the Frontenac Parents' Association Annual BBQ.
