WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added import wide receiver David Ball to their roster.
Ball (6-1, 200, New Hampshire, DOB: June 6, 1984 in Berlin, Vermont) was a standout receiver during his college career with the Wildcats, finishing with 304 receptions for 4,655 yards and 58 touchdowns. He set an NCAA Division 1-AA record for career touchdowns surpassing Jerry Rice's previous mark of 50. Ball recorded three straight 1,000 yard seasons and is tied for first all-time in the NCAA Division 1-AA with 23 100-yard receiving games. He spent time on the New York Jets' and Chicago Bears' practice rosters before joining the Montreal Alouettes and most recently the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Ball had two catches for 38 yards in one preseason game for the TiCats last year, but his season was cut short due to injury.
