Montreal Alouettes News Release

A day of firsts in camp Sherbrooke, June 7, 2010 - It was a day of firsts on the second day of the 2010 Montreal Alouettes' training camp. The sun was out for the first time since the beginning of camp, which allowed the players to practice outdoors on Coulter Field for the first time. The players were also in full pads for the first of camp, which raised the level of intensity because there were more hard hits than on Day 1.

New arrivals Import receivers C.J. Hawthorne and Tim Maypray, import cornerback Joshua Harris, import defensive tackle Taylor Scott and import guard Joseph Lara joined the Alouettes on Monday.

O.J. Santiago on joining the Alouettes "C'est magnifique! It's a lot of fun. It's great to be home in Canada and I feel really good playing with these guys. I've enjoyed every practice so far. I've stayed in shape and that gave me the chance to come out here and now I'm ready to learn the most complicated offence in the league."

Marc-Olivier Brouillette on his first professional training camp "There's a lot to learn and memorize - a lot more compared to what I was used to with the (University of Montreal) Carabins. I must also become more familiar with new positions. I learn by mentally and physically visualizing what I do and what I see and I hope to get better throughout camp."

Gaiters in the house Bishop's head coach Leroy Blugh, Director of Athletics Tony Addona, and a few players sat in the stands this morning watching the Alouettes closely.

Tomorrow The Alouettes will practice on Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. with media availability to follow on the field at 10:15 a.m. The second practice will start at 3 p.m.
