Oklahoma City Blue News Release

ORLANDO - The Oklahoma City Blue (7-1) registered a tight win over the Iowa Wolves (0-8), 128-122, for its sixth straight win on Monday morning.

With the game tied at 116 with 3:04 to play, two-way player Moses Brown scored in the paint to give the Blue a two-point lead. On the next possession, Thunder assignment player Aleksej PokuÅ"=A1evski drained a three to stretch the lead to five. In the final two minutes, Antonius Cleveland and PokuÅ"=A1evski blocked shots on separate possessions to seal the win for Oklahoma City.

"We knew this was going to be a tough game," Head Coach Grant Gibbs said. "They're very talented, they've been in a lot of games, so their record does not indicate the quality of team they are. They played really well. That third quarter was not great, but I thought we got back on track in the fourth. Had some good leadership from different guys banding us together. That last thrust, the three minutes was impressive from a defensive standpoint. That's who we want to be as a team, we want to be able to get stops."

Iowa scored first out of the gate, but a 20-8 second-quarter run pushed Oklahoma City ahead to take a 13-point lead into the break. Oklahoma City used 10 threes from six different players in the first half to score a season-high 74 points against the Wolves.

The second half saw 10 lead changes as the teams went back and forth. Down 15 in the third, Iowa forced eight Blue turnovers and a used 19-3 run to take the lead with 5:14 on the clock. Both teams traded baskets until Iowa's Isaiah Briscoe hit a floater at the end to put the Wolves up 100-99 after a 39-point frame.

Oklahoma City made a season-high 17 three-pointers and seven Blue players scored in double figures. Brown led the way with 22 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks, shooting 9-of-14 from the field. PokuÅ"=A1evski contributed a near double-double of 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists, shooting 3-of-7 from three-point range while fellow assignment player Ty Jerome scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high four steals.

Antonius Cleveland shot 6-for-11 from the field en route to a 21-point game in addition to his six rebounds and four assists. Jaylen Hoard came off the bench to score 19 points on 6-of-7 shots while Zavier Simpson dished out a game-leading nine assists to go with his 11 points and six rebounds.

Lindell Wigginton led the charge for Iowa, turning in 28 points, seven assists and four rebounds.

The Blue will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 24, facing off against the Greensboro Swarm at 2:30 p.m. CT at The Field House.
