Blizzard Set To Kick Off "A Noble Cause" For Kids With Cancer

Green Bay Blizzard News Release
Green Bay Blizzard President Brian Noble knows a thing or two about big games. As a linebacker for the Green Bay Packers, he played in many such games, including the infamous "asterisk" game against the Chicago Bears. Friday night's game against the Louisville Fire is without question the biggest game in the history, with the Blizzard in a battle for the Division Title and home-field advantage in the playoffs. However, the importance of the outcome of the game pales in comparison to the outcome of a much more serious battle: the fight against cancer.
Unfortunately, Brian and Cindy Noble also know a thing or two about the devastating effect that cancer can have on a family. In March of 2005, their oldest daughter, Amanda, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. They met the challenge head-on, and through excellent medical care and the support of family and friends they were able to win their battle. Though her fight will never really end, Amanda is in remission, and the Nobles have gained first-hand knowledge of how hard it is to battle this terrible disease.
Still, in the darkness of their fight they were able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and from their ordeal they learned one undeniable truth: no one should have to face a challenge like this alone. And so the Nobles decided to establish "A Noble Cause" for Kids with Cancer. They saw the need for support right here in Northeast Wisconsin, and again met the challenge head-on. "A Noble Cause" is raising both awareness and support for the families of kids with cancer with the multi-colored "Cancer Awareness Bracelets," which are available through the foundation.
The Bracelets are a string of colored beads, with each color representing one of the many different types of cancer that families may face, and they are designed to help raise awareness and support for local families with kids battling cancer. The bracelets are available for $10 each, and all proceeds stay right here in the communities of Northeast Wisconsin.
On Friday night, at halftime of the Blizzard vs. Fire game, the Blizzard will have a special presentation to kick off the "A Noble Cause" campaign to raise awareness and funds for local families of kids with cancer. Brian Noble will take a few moments to thank the people that have given his family their thoughts, prayers and support over the last year-and-a-half, and he will also introduce Blizzard fans to the new foundation and the Cancer Awareness Bracelets.
As the Blizzard prepares to battle the Fire for the East Division title, Noble knows how much is riding on the outcome of the game. But he also knows - all too well - that there are other battles to be fought, and the stakes are infinitely higher than just home-field advantage.
