
Shock selected to receive 'Hometown Heroes' Award

The Spokane Shock announced today that they have been selected as the inaugural recipients of NorthTown Mall's Hometown Heroes award. The award is designed to celebrate and honor members of the community who have made an impact on Spokane.
NorthTown Mall will honor the Shock on Monday July 31st from 2pm - 4pm in the Food Court. Head Coach Chris Siegfried and players will be on hand to receive the award and sign autographs. This event is free and open to the public.
In only its first year, the Shock have truly taken the arenafootball2 league by storm; with the best record in the league, a division crown, and league-leading attendance numbers, the Shock have made an extraordinary impact on the Spokane community.
"We are truly honored to receive this award," the Shock's Director of Communications Kevin Maloney said. "It would difficult to script a season like the one that we have had. This first year has truly been special and we are grateful that NorthTown Mall is recognizing these achievements."
The Shock are traveling to Hidalgo, Texas this week to take on the Rio Grande Valley Dorodos in the final regular season game of the year on July 29th. You can catch all of the game action on 105.7 THE BUZZARD with the voice of the Shock Larry Weir starting at 5:30 PM.
On August 12th, the Shock will host a playoff game at the Spokane Arena with a 7 PM kick off. Tickets for the game are on sale now and can be purchased by calling TicketsWest at 509 325 SEAT.
