Green Bay Blizzard News Release
GREEN BAY, Wis. â Wilkes-Barre Scranton took advantage of an early third-quarter possession and a Blizzard mistake to extend their one-point halftime lead. The Pioneers never looked back in their 75-39 victory over the Blizzard.
The Pioneers' Leroy McFadden was a major factor in the victory, scoring four touchdowns (two receiving, one rushing and one defensive fumble recovery).
The Blizzard started the game in an excellent way, scoring on their first play on a 29-yard pass from Chris Greisen to Randall Lane, but would finish with six turnovers. Of the six Blizzard turnovers, three were returned for touchdowns. The Blizzard were also held to six points in the second half.
"Whatever brand of football it is, you can't turn the ball over and win," said Blizzard Head Coach Brian Noble.
Both teams entered play at 1-0 this week, the first time either team was above .500. This was the largest margin of victory for the Pioneers at 36 points.
