Bakersfield Blitz News Release
Bakersfield, CA â The Bakersfield Blitz of the af2 have announced transactions for this week, heading into their home opener against the San Diego Riptide this Saturday at 7:00pm.
Fullback and linebacker Nick Onaindia has been placed on the short term injured reserve. He missed last Saturday's game as well, and won't be eligible to play again until May 1st against Arkansas. Two players were removed from the short term IR, WR/DB Jay Morris and offensive specialist Golden Goodwin.
Everyone in attendance on Saturday will receive a Blitz Magnet Schedule and the crowd will be entertained by the ZOOperstars, courtesy of WB-12, 98.5 The Fox and Whitewater Car Wash & Lube. The ZOOperstars, who make their arena football debut in Bakersfield, are giant animal mascot take-offs on famous sports stars, featuring Peyton Manatee, Harry Canary, Mia Hamster, Rusty Walrus, Mackerel Jordan and Nomar Garciaparrot. Doors open at 6:00pm. All Blitz games, home and away, can be heard on KGEO AM 1230 with the "Voice of the Blitz" Kevin Bartl. This weekend's game can also be seen live on Bright House Networks Ch. 21.
