Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard and Iowa Barnstormers will face off for the second straight week on Friday, May 27 at 7:05 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Blizzard (4-6) and Barnstormers (5-4) are familiar opponents; this will be their third matchup of the 2022 season. The Barnstormers won the first meeting during Week 4, 36-18.
The two teams faced off again this past week in Green Bay. After a back-and-forth game, the Blizzard emerged victorious, 30-27.
Defensive back Carl Robertgeau sealed the game for the Blizzard with an interception late in the fourth quarter, thwarting Iowa's attempted comeback.
Kicker Nick Jaworski's strong performance helped lift Green Bay over Iowa. Jaworski connected on all four PAT attempts in addition to hitting three of four field goals, including a 42-yarder, his longest of the season.
In his first start against the Barnstormers in Week 11, quarterback Jack Sheehan threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns and added a rushing TD.
Running back Tim Whitfield made his Blizzard debut against the Barnstormers. He will look to build on his strong performance when the team travels to Des Moines. Whitfield rushed six times for 26 yards, in addition to hauling in four receptions for 43 yards in his first game in a Blizzard uniform.
Linebacker James Brown recorded six tackles and one and a half sacks against Iowa. He enters Friday's game as the IFL's leader in tackles.
