Northern Arizona Wranglers News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona Wranglers head to Tucson, Ariz., in Week 12, to take on the Tucson Sugar Skulls, as they'll be in search of their fifth-straight victory.
On Saturday evening, the Wranglers, and Sugar Skulls, will do battle for the third and final time during the regular season. The Wranglers are looking to continue their winning ways, as they have a 2-1 regular season mark against the Sugar Skulls. In the first meeting between Northern Arizona and Tucson, the Sugar Skulls came out victorious, in their 72-62 shootout, with the Wranglers, in Tucson Arena. Most recently, the Wranglers defeated the Sugar Skulls, by a score of 36-21, just two weeks ago, at Pinnacle Bank Field at the Findlay Toyota Center.
The Wranglers head to Tucson with a 7-2 record, and are currently tied for first place in the Western Conference, along with the Arizona Rattlers. The Sugar Skulls bounced back last week, with a hard-fought 69-65 victory over the San Diego Strike Force, bringing their overall record to 5-4 on the season.
Tucson starting quarterback Daquan Neal did not play against the Wranglers in their last meeting. Neal was competing in an official tryout with the NFL's Indianapolis Colts. The Indoor Football League's top-ranked defense prepares for the Sugar Skulls, who will be at full force in this matchup, as their lead signal caller will be back in action. The Wranglers defense will be looking to build off their performance, when the Sugar Skulls traveled to Prescott Valley, Ariz., a mere two weeks prior.
The Sugar Skulls have been tremendous offensively this season, scoring the second most points per game, on average, in the IFL. The battle between the league's stingiest defense, and second ranked offense, will be the featured Game of the Week. The Wranglers will need a complete performance in all phases of the game to come out with the win. The Wranglers offense has been on fire under the leadership of quarterback Kaleb Barker, and he'll be aiming for another great performance on Saturday.
Will the Wranglers head out of Tucson with their winning streak intact? Come out to Hideout Bar in Prescott Valley, Ariz., to find out! Watch the game with other Wranglers fans, while enjoying food and drinks at the bar! Drinks at halftime are also half-priced! Stream the game on the Indoor Football League YouTube channel.
