Kamloops Blazers News Release
Shayne Wiebe's first WHL goal stood up as the game winner as the Blazers played a strong road game en route to a 2-1 win last night in Red Deer.
Wiebe tracked down a Sasha Golin dump in late in the second period and threw the puck to the net and in off a leg to give the Blazers a 2-0 lead at the time. Travis Dunstall's 4th of the season opened the scoring just 0:47 into the game. Landon Ferraro scored the lone Rebel goal on a third-period powerplay.
Final shots were 24-16 Kamloops with James Priestner picking up the win - his third in three starts - while James Reimer took the loss. The Blazers were 0-for-4 on the PP and 2-for-3 on the PK.
