Kamloops Blazers News Release

Well, we had a busy week...four games over the course of the last 8 days...coming out of it with a 1-and-3 record and now find ourselves in a three-way tie for second place with Vancouver and Kootenay, and just two points ahead of Prince George.

Whoever are the best three teams of the four between now and the end of the regular season will make the playoffs. The fourth best team over the next six weeks will be on the outside looking in.

Makes life pretty simple, doesn't it?!?

Boy, the next six weeks are going to be fun...

Last "week" started with three losses on the road in Prince George (4-1), Tri-Cities (5-1), and Everett (4-1)...but the guys got back home and put forth a top-quality effort in knocking off the Kootenay Ice 4-0.

Of note, the shutout was the team's 7th of the season, which sets a franchise record for most shutouts in a single regular season. The old record, of course, was 6.

Devan Dubnyk got the shutout, which was his 5th of the season, and that ties a franchise record for most shutouts in a single season by a goaltender. Rod Branch, Kenric Exner, and Corey Hirsch also had 5 in a season. Devan now has SEVEN shutouts in his career, which is tied for second on the all-time Blazer list with Davis Parley and Rod Branch. Corey Hirsch has the franchise record with 13.

This week, it's another 3-in-3 for the guys...this time ALL on the road. Friday we're in Calgary, then we go to Red Deer on Saturday and Cranbrook on Sunday. Each game has tremendous impact...so they should be exciting!

The deadline for season ticket holders to book their playoff packages is coming up on February 20th. All that's needed is a $50 down payment.

Call the Sport Mart Place Box Office at 828-3339 to book now!

Takin' Care of Business, our souvenir store, is adjusting its operating hours. The store will now be open from 12pm to 5pm Monday to Friday and open on all game nights.

The store will no longer be open on Saturday afternoons.

Thanks for the patience, too, as we work to get our online store up and running. It's taken a while, but I assure you we ARE getting closer. Really. No kidding.

Tune us in on the road this week...and GO BLAZERS!

See ya later!

Kirk
