Blazers to Honour Kyrell Sopotyk Friday, February 18

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers will honour Kyrell Sopotyk on Friday, February 18th before a game against the Everett Silvertips at the Sandman Centre at 7:00pm.

Sopotyk was selected by the Blazers in the fifth round of the 2016 WHL Prospects Draft. The 2001-born forward played in 107 games with the hockey club and collected 45 points between 2018 and 2020.

The Aberdeen, SK native was paralyzed from the waist down in a snowboarding accident in January 2021.

The Blazers will be wearing specialty made Kyrell Sopotyk #12 practice jerseys for the pre-game warm up on Friday, February 18th. Each jersey will be signed by Sopotyk.

The jerseys will be auctioned off online between February 14th and March 14th. Net proceeds will go to a charity of choice on behalf of Kyrell Sopotyk.

Sopotyk will also be on hand to drop the puck in a ceremonial faceoff prior to the game.
