Kamloops Blazers News Release
Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers will be honouring their late President, Don Moores during the 2021-22 WHL season. Don passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2021.
The hockey club will be wearing a helmet decal and have installed an on ice decal behind each goal net. The helmet decal and on-ice logo will be in remembrance of Don Moores for the entirety of the 2021-22 season.
The Blazers have also installed the logo on the table in the loge seating area in the north end of the Sandman Centre. Don was a driving force in innovation and improvement of the overall atmosphere at the Sandman Centre.
"This season is dedicated to honouring the inspiration and commitment that Don Moores brought to the Kamloops Blazers. We miss him greatly and believe his influence and legacy will continue to be felt for many years throughout the organization and in the community," commented Governor, Tom Gaglardi.
On Friday, November 19th prior to a home game against the Victoria Royals, we will host a special pregame ceremony dedicated to Don Moores. It will be an opportunity to celebrate the contributions he had on the Kamloops Blazers and the Kamloops community as a whole.
