Oklahoma City, Okla. The Oklahoma City Blazers will wear special orange and black jerseys with the Oklahoma State University logo on its crest for this weekends home-and-home series against the Wichita Thunder, the Blazers front office announced today.
The Oklahoma State University sweaters worn by the players will be auctioned off in a silent auction in the arena Saturday night. Proceeds from the auction will benefit an Oklahoma State University charity.
The Blazers will wear the OSU style jerseys for both games of the teams weekend home-and-home series with the Wichita Thunder. January 23, Oklahoma City takes on the Thunder in Wichita at 7:30 p.m. and will return to the Ford Center on January 24 for a 7:35 p.m. faceoff. The Thunder will participate in this special event by wearing Kansas State University style jerseys for both games.
Last season, the Blazers honored the University of Oklahomas athletic accomplishments by hosting OU night. The Blazers donned crimson and crème jerseys for their home game against the Austin Ice Bats and raised over $7,000 for Oklahoma City and Norman Public Schools. Oklahoma City donned special orange and black OSU sweaters on February 2 and 3 in the year 2000 and raised over $70,000 benefiting the school.
This home-and-home series is critical for both teams. The Thunder currently trail the Blazers by three points in the tight Northern Conference playoff race. Great tickets are still available by contacting any Tickets.com outlet or by calling the Blazers office at 235-PUCK.
