The Kamloops Blazers scored five power-play goals on their way to downing the Rockets 6-2 on Tuesday night at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, BC.
Sixteen-year-old Connor Levis put on a show for the Blazers, scoring four goals-all on the power play.
Blazers defenceman Montana Onyebuchi (2) found the back of the net 1:45 into the game to give Kamloops an early lead. Connor Levis (3,4) scored a pair on the man advantage and Inaki Baragano (3) added another power play goal before the end of the first
David Kope (2) scored his second of the season to inch the Rockets back within three.
Levis (5) completed the hat trick just after the midway point of the third. Mark Liwiski (4) scored the Rockets fourth shorthanded goal of the season to make it 5-2, shortly after that Levis (5) netted his fourth goal of the game.
Rockets netminder Cole Schwebius stopped 28 of the 34 shots he faced, Dylan Garand turned aside 32 of the 34 shots fired on him.
The Rockets power play was shut down all five times, the penalty kill gave up five goals on seven attempts.
Both teams fired 34 shots on net.
The Rockets record is now 3-2-0-0.
Rilen Kovacevic, William Irvine, Steel Quiring, Ethan Ernst, Jackson DeSouza and Nicholas Cristiano were the Rockets scratches.
Kelowna will look to bounce back when they host the Prince George Cougars on Friday night at Prospera Place, puck drop is set for 7:05 pm PT.
