Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have acquired 20-year-old centre Aaron Richards from the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for 20-year-old defenseman Conlan Seder.
Richards, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound, left-hand shot from Saskatoon, SK, posted 16 goals and 50 points with both the Warriors and Swift Current Broncos in 2003-04. This season, Richards had 1 assist in 4 games with Moose Jaw.
"Aaron provides us with more depth at the forward position," says Blazer Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Dean Clark. "He's been a steady point producer at the WHL level with 50 last season and 41 the year before, including 21 goals, with the Broncos as an 18-year-old. He's also a natural centre, which will lighten the load players like Jarret Lukin and Reid Jorgensen have been carrying to start this season."
Richards is on his way to Kamloops and is expected to join the club sometime on Wednesday. He's expected to be in the Blazer lineup this weekend.
