
Rockets complete trade with Giants

Kelowna, BC âKelowna Rockets President and General Manager, Bruce Hamilton has announced that defenceman Stewart Thiessen has been traded to the Vancouver Giants. In return, the Rockets receive a 6th Round 2005 WHL Draft Pick.
Thiessen, was acquired by the Rockets from the Everett Silvertips at the 2003-2004 trade deadline and was playing with the BCHL's Vernon Vipers at the time. The Carman, Manitoba Native was brought into the Rockets line-up when defenceman Darren Deschamps suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. Stewart played 17 play-off games with the Rockets and was a member of the 2004 Memorial Cup Championship Team.
"We are happy that this opportunity presented itself for Stewart to continue playing in the Western Hockey League. We wish Stewy all the best in Vancouver." Commented Rockets President and General Manager, Bruce Hamilton earlier this morning.
Earlier this season Theissen was reassigned to the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL.
