
Blazers acquire Eisenkirch

KAMLOOPS, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have completed a trade with the Saskatoon Blades today in which they acquired 19-year-old defenseman Joel Eisenkirch (IGH-zuhn-kursh) in exchange for a 7th round selection in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft.
Eisenkirch, a 6'3", 196-pound Regina native, was assigned to the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League by the Blades at the start of the season. He played 11 games in Humboldt, scoring 3 goals and 3 assists, and recording 46 penalty minutes. He was also named the SJHL's Defenseman of the Week from October 2nd-8th.
Eisenkirch, originally a 10th round pick of the Red Deer Rebels in the 2001 WHL Bantam Draft, is scheduled to join the club in Vancouver on Friday.
