Blast Fall to Comets 5-4

The Blast traveled to Missouri on Saturday night to take on the Comets in the regular season finale. In the third matchup of the season the Blast fell to the Comets 5-4.

The Comets got the scoring started with the first two goals of the game. Max Touloute and Leo Gibson scored for the Comets for the only goals of the first quarter.

The Blast would get on the board in the second quarter. After a huge goal line block by Pat Healey the Blast gained possession and Jonatas Melo recored a goal assisted by Sofianne Tergou. Healey led the defense with 5 blocks in the half as the Blast went into the locker room trailing 2-1.

Both teams came out aggressive in the second half. The Blast would tie the game at two with a goal from Uzi Tayou at the 7:02 mark. The Comets would retake the lead moments later with a goal from Alain Matingou but Jereme Raley would answer for the Blast with his second goal of the season assisted by Jinho Kim. The Blast entered the final quarter tied 3-3.

Adriano Dos Santos gave the Blast the lead at the 5:27 mark with his 10th goal of the season. The next two goals would go to the Comets as Vahid Assadpour scored the game tying goal and the Ramone Palmer record the game winner for the Comets.

The Blast fall to 15-4 on the season. The Blast were led by Pat Healey who contributed 5 blocks while leading a defense who let up only 5 goals on the night. William Vanzela, recorded 7 saves in goal for the Blast.

The Blast have clinched the Eastern Division and will host a playoff game Friday, March 11th against the winner of the Syracuse Silver Knights vs. Waza Flo series. Playoff tickets are available by calling the Blast office at 410-558-4295. Kickoff is at 7:35p.m from the Royal Farms Arena.
