Defense Wins Championships:
This season the Blast defense has allowed only 15 goals while scoring 51 for the 2nd best goal differential in the MASL. William Vanzela leads the league GAA with a 2.14 average and save percentage with a .831%.
2014-15 MASL Defender of the Year, First Team All MASL, and Team Captain Pat Healey anchors the defense which was one of the best in the league this season. Healey and others, like MASL All Rookie Team selection Onua Obasi, and veteran defender Adriano Dos Santos, continue the long tradition of stout Baltimore defense.
The Competition- Harrisburg Heat:
The Heat are led offensively by Christopher Williams who has recorded 3 goals and 3 assists so far this season and leads the team with 6 points. Kenny Fultz leads the team with 4 goals. Goalkeepers Scott Krotee and Timothy Mehl have both started 3 games this season. Krotee enters with a 7.04 GAA and Mehl enters with a 9.39. The Heat are coached by Baltimore Blast Hall of Famer, Tarik Walker.
The Competition- Syracuse Silver Knights:
The Silver Knights are led offensively by Jerjer Gibson who has 8 goals and 4 assists so far this season for 12 points. Antonio Manfut, Slavisa Ubiparipovic, Bo Jelovac, and Kenardo Forbes have all also contributed 8 points this season. Goalkeeper Byran OQuinn enters with a 5.45 GAA. The Silver Knights are coached by Tommy Tanner.
